Thailand vs. Germany

The Mustache is a special club, combining two purposes at the same time. 

During the day, the Mustache Bar is a restaurant-like bar serving pizza and a great variety

of Belgium beers. Combined with the Jazz music that is being played, one would never guess the second identity of the Mustache. At daytime, the atmosphere is laid-back and relaxing. Many guests enjoy a well chosen beer and one of the delicious pizzas that are made in a original brick-oven. Adding to this the expertise of the owner when it comes to beer guarantees the perfect beer for the chosen pizza. 

At night on the other hand, the bar transforms to one of the cities hottest techno clubs. The tables are moved to the side, to make rook for the dance floor. The bar opens and the DJ plays the turntables in the middle of the room. The entry is usually free and the guests can still enjoy some pizza by the slice. During those night hours, the techno scene gathers to celebrate to the best tracks played by the best local and international DJs. 

This concept, to combine a restaurant with a full on techno club is unique and unseen in Germany. German clubs or bars only serve the one purpose they have been opened for. Opening at some point in the early evening around 5 PM, the bars usually serve food and beverages, until they close the kitchen at some point and continue to only serve drinks from that on. Clubs on the other hand open around 11 PM and start playing their music until the early morning. During the days both locations are closed and not used at all. Imagining that a night club could also serve as a restaurant during the day seems not to work in Germany, as some clubs have tried it in the past. Probably because a location has a certain image to represent, which determines the category it belongs to. 

Opening a restaurant/club location in Germany would surely add more variety to the pretty strict landscape of gastronomy locations. If it could last, remains to be seen.
